Itacaré heads into the summer of 2027 after a year in which even the low season never emptied out. Between March and June 2026, average hotel occupancy ran between 65% and 70%, with some properties reaching 75%, according to the Municipal Tourism Department. For December, January and February, airlines are adding capacity to Bahia and to Ilhéus. The takeaway is simple: if you want Itacaré in summer, you need to plan now.

A low season that wasn't low

Beyond the high off-season occupancy, a local hotel group recorded 30% growth in the first four months of 2026 compared with 2025. The profile of the visitor has changed too: more people looking for nature, surfing and peace and quiet, and more foreigners staying for long periods. In October, the city government released data from CVC Corp showing a 32% rise in travel sales to Itacaré in the first quarter.

More flights to Ilhéus

Azul has scheduled 780 extra flights to Bahia between December 5, 2026 and February 14, 2027, about 115,000 additional seats; Ilhéus gets 90 of them, on the Congonhas route. Latam has kept the Congonhas–Ilhéus route as permanent since October 2025, with extra capacity in summer, and Gol flies from Galeão on Saturdays. The airport is about 70 km from Itacaré, an hour and a half along the coastal road. All the ways to get there are in Como chegar a Itacaré.

What to do now

  • Book early. Accommodation and tickets for the end of the year and for January tend to go up in price and sell out. See what each type of trip costs in Quanto custa viajar para Itacaré.
  • Stay close to the center. In summer, staying between Concha and Pituba means doing almost everything on foot and not depending on a parking spot for your car. Filter your options in Where to stay.
  • Secure your Réveillon. It is the most sought-after night of the season. The schedule is in Réveillon 2027 em Itacaré, and the Corais line-up is in Réveillon Corais 2027.
  • Read the tide. New and full moons bring the lowest tides and the natural pools. The month's tide table is in Tides, moon & weather.

Summer at Concha

Praia da Concha (beach), the one in the center, is summer's meeting point: calm sea by day, sunset along the Orla, and the night starting just a few steps away. Cabana Corais, on the sand at Concha for more than thirty years, is a restaurant by day, serving moqueca cooked in a clay pot, shrimp in a pumpkin, and Bahian-style tuna, and a party venue by night: the Pagodin on Saturdays, the Réveillon on December 31 and the first Pagodin of 2027 on January 2.

At a glance

  • High season: December through Carnaval, plus long holiday weekends
  • Low-season occupancy in 2026: 65% to 70% (March to June), with peaks of 75%
  • Extra flights: Azul, 780 to Bahia between 5/12/2026 and 14/2/2027, 90 of them to Ilhéus (Congonhas)
  • Airport: Ilhéus, about 70 km from Itacaré
  • Tip: book accommodation, flights and Réveillon in advance
