A beach of up to 70 meters, with sand and rocks, reached by a 20 to 30 minute trail from Jeribucaçu, past Corais and Arruda. It has no infrastructure at all.

Beyond Jeribucaçu, the trail goes on and the scale of the landscape changes. The beaches get smaller, tucked closer against the rocks, and each one comes as a short pause before the next. Segredo appears after Corais and Arruda: a narrow strip of sand interspersed with rocks, where those who arrive on foot find the sea and little else. There is no kiosk, no sign, nothing to explain the place. It explains itself.

Past Corais and Arruda

The path starts at Jeribucaçu and crosses, in sequence, Praia dos Corais and Arruda. It is about a 20 to 30 minute walk, which makes this stretch a natural extension for anyone who has already made it down to Jeribucaçu and still has energy to spare.

The charm lies precisely in the sequence. You don't go to Segredo: you pass two other beaches and arrive at it. The walk is part of the outing, and anyone who treats it as mere transit misses half of what there is to see.

Seventy meters of sand and rock

The beach is at most 70 meters long, with sand and rocks. It is small, and it's best to arrive knowing that: this is not a place to spend the whole day with a mat, umbrella and cooler, but for a stop to swim and rest.

There is no infrastructure of any kind. Visitors bring what they need and take back whatever is left over, trash included. Among the beaches along the Jeribucaçu trail, Corais, Segredo and Arruda are described as little frequented and good for swimming, which fits the secluded feel of the group.

A name that barely circulates

Segredo, or Palva, is a name that rarely comes up. Not every itinerary lists it under that name, and it is treated as a secondary beach on the Jeribucaçu trail, not as a destination in its own right. That is why the best point of reference is the path itself: Jeribucaçu, then Corais, then Arruda. If doubts arise along the trail, it is worth confirming the stretch with locals or a local guide before going further.

Who it's for

For people who like to walk and prefer a small beach, with no facilities and no sound from beach stalls. For those who want to make the most of the trip to Jeribucaçu and extend the day along a trail with several stops. It is not the right beach for anyone who needs a restroom, food or ready-made shade, nor for anyone who has difficulty walking: access is on foot only. Those looking for a long stretch of sand to run or play ball on will also find it short.
