Barracuda Hotel and Villas, an SLH Hotel

Breakfast starts being served at eight in the morning, and the house is already awake. The door of a hotel with 24-hour service never truly closes, but this is the hour when the day takes shape: the table is set, guests are barefoot, Pituba just steps away. Barracuda is not a single building. It is a collection of houses scattered around Itacaré, and where you choose to sleep sets the tone of your trip.

Four houses, one name

Barracuda Hotel has 17 suites. The Barracuda Villas are houses with 4 to 8 suites, designed for groups and families who want to stay together without sharing a hallway. Oiti by Barracuda is a guest house with 11 suites. OKA by Barracuda is a residence with 9 suites.

Amenities across the collection include a pool, Wi-Fi, parking, breakfast, a spa and accessibility. At OKA, the pool covers 800 m² and there is a spa and a gym.

Between Costa do Resende and the historic center

The Hotel and the Villas are in Costa do Resende. Oiti is in the historic center, which changes the rhythm: guests who choose it can walk out into the bustle of town. The main address is Rua Pedro Longo, 600, in Pituba, and the accommodation is beachfront, with your feet in the sand.

At the table, with regional ingredients

The kitchen works with ingredients from local fishermen, small producers and farmers. The Barracuda restaurant is open daily, from 13:00 to 23:00. The one at Oiti operates Monday to Saturday, from 17:00 to 23:00.

On Saturdays, from 19:00, Barracuda Grill serves fish and lobster from the coast, prepared on the Parrilla. On Thursdays, also from 19:00, the Quinta da Mata dinner takes place, with local musicians.

Breakfast is served Monday to Sunday, from 8:00 until 9:00 or 10:00, depending on the house.

A house with a short history and a purpose

The project began in 2004, in Bahia, by the hands of Juliana Ghiotto, Daniel Lima and a group of Swedish friends. The name comes from a local fish. The house donates 10% of its profit to Instituto Yandê Itacaré.

Who it's for

For those who want to choose between the hotel format, the guest house in the historic center or an entire house for the group. It suits couples who prefer the calm of Costa do Resende, and families or friends who fit in a villa of up to 8 suites. Those looking for a spa, a large pool and a gym will find them at OKA. Those who want to dine well without leaving the hotel have a restaurant at two of the houses. Those looking for the cheapest option in town should think it over: the house's price range is level 3.
