Tickets and information

At the first stage in August, 101 surfers signed up on the sands of Tiririca: eight-year-olds with boards bigger than they are, teenagers facing school friends in the final, pro surfers and those who surf for the love of it, each in their own heat. On October 17 and 18, the Circuito Municipal Itacaré é Surf returns to the same beach for its second stage.

A competition for all ages

The circuit is run by ASI, the Associação de Surf de Itacaré, which is based right at Tiririca and runs a social project that uses surfing to include the town's children and teenagers. The aim, in the organizers' words, is to bring together athletes from different generations for two days of surf and competition, with culture, ecology, a workshop and music.

The first stage had ten categories: men's and women's Pro-Am, the full youth ladder from Under-8 to Under-18, and the Social division, men's and women's, for those who don't compete professionally. Demi Brasil, from Morro de São Paulo, and Maria Eduarda won the Pro-Am. The standout was Rudá Nascimento, who reached three finals and walked away with two titles, in Under-12 and Under-14, and a runner-up finish.

Tiririca, host of seven world events

Tiririca (beach) is a beach break with several peaks, framed by rocks and Atlantic Forest, a ten-minute walk from the town center. Itacaré has already hosted seven world tour events, including stages of the elite women's circuit in 2006 and 2007, won by Lisa Andersen and Tita Tavares. Adriano de Souza, known as Mineirinho, won here in 2008, seven years before becoming world champion. In June 2025, the Taça Brasil brought together around 195 athletes from 14 states and handed out R$ 250,000 in prize money. It is also home to the Federação Baiana de Surf, which turned 50 in July 2026 and has its registered headquarters on the beach street.

For spectators

Surf contests are watched from the sand, for free, with the sea as your grandstand. Tiririca is a few minutes' walk from the town center and is the beach best suited to it: the heats take place just a few meters from where you're sitting on the sand. Bring a hat, water and plenty of time, because the heats follow one another all day long. The schedule, categories and registration for this stage are announced by ASI on Instagram.
