Itacaré na Cena: a guide to the town, made in the town
Eighteen beaches, more than a hundred places to stay with direct booking via WhatsApp, where to eat, tours, health, services and the events calendar. The new Itacaré guide is live.
At six in the morning, Praia da Concha (beach) still belongs to the fishermen. The boats come back through the mouth of the Rio de Contas, the sun rises behind Ponta do Xaréu, and for half an hour Itacaré's most urban beach is silent. Then come the surfboards, the bicycles, the smell of coffee from the pousadas in Pituba. It is in this interval, between the village waking up and the beach still asleep, that Itacaré na Cena was born: a guide made here, for those who arrive and for those who stay.
Eighteen beaches, one address
Itacaré has more beaches than a week can handle. From Concha, in the center, to Jeribucaçu, at the end of a forest trail, the guide brings together 18 beaches with what you need to know before leaving your pousada: how to get there, whether there are beach huts, whether it's a surf beach or a swimming beach, whether it's worth it on a rainy day. Tiririca is the beach of waves and championships. Ribeira is the one for family Sundays. Engenhoca, Havaizinho and Camboinha are on the road to Serra Grande and call for a trail, sneakers and water in your backpack. Prainha is the reward for a forty-minute walk.

The right pousada, with the message already written
The town has more than a hundred places to stay listed in the guide, from beach houses to boutique hotels between Pituba and Tiririca. Each page shows the Google rating with the date it was checked, confirmed amenities (pool, breakfast, parking, pet-friendly) and a map with the exact location. Alongside, visitors choose their dates and number of guests, and the booking message is ready to send to the pousada's WhatsApp, with no middleman and no commission. The guide charges neither the guest nor the host for this.

Where to eat, what to do and what's on
Sixty restaurants, bars and cafés are in the Where to eat section, from moqueca served in a clay pot to the specialty coffee on Rua Pedro Longo. Things to do lists the rafting agencies on the Rio de Contas, surf schools, boat trips and guided trails on the Península de Maraú. The Events section is the town's calendar: luau, New Year's Eve party, surf championship, street market, with date, venue and ticket link. And the News section follows what is changing in the region: roads, flights to Ilhéus, high season, roadworks.
The practical side of the trip
Not every trip is only about the beach. The guide lists the hospital, pharmacies, clinics and massage and therapy services under Health; and, under Services, Ilhéus airport transfers, licensed guides, bicycle and surfboard rentals, the internet provider and currency exchange offices. This is information travelers usually find out late, at the pousada's reception desk or in the WhatsApp group.

Made with the town, not about it
Every business page has the button "É o responsável por este lugar?" ("Are you in charge of this place?"). Through it, owners can correct opening hours, change the phone number, send their own photos (with credit) or ask to be removed from the guide, and the request is verified through the business's own WhatsApp number. The basic listing is free and will remain so. Every photo on the site has its source and credit recorded; those from Google are identified as such, and those provided by businesses appear with the name and profile of whoever took them.
Itacaré na Cena is edited in Itacaré, independently. Paid content, when there is any, carries an advertising label, as required by CONAR and the Código de Defesa do Consumidor. The rest is the opinion of people who live here and walk these beaches all year round.

Frequently asked questions
Does the guide charge to list my business?
No. The basic listing (name, address, phone, opening hours, map, photos with credit) is free. Paid highlights, when they exist, are labeled as advertising.
Are the ratings and reviews from the guide?
No. The rating shown is Google's, with the date it was checked next to it. The guide neither writes nor copies reviews.
How do I correct wrong information about my business?
Use the "É o responsável por este lugar?" button on the business's page. Verification is done through the business's own WhatsApp, and the correction goes live within two business days.
Does the WhatsApp booking go through the guide?
No. The message goes straight to the pousada's number, with the dates and number of guests you chose. The guide only counts, anonymously, how many requests came from each page.
Where do the photos come from?
From the guide itself, from the businesses (provided with credit) and from Google, always with the source identified in the caption. To correct a credit or request the removal of an image, write to the email address in the footer.
