Tour Links Salvador to the Maraú Peninsula and Itacaré, Oct. 30 to Nov. 2
Marques Turismo package combines a schooner trip to Barra Grande, Goió and Campinho, a walk along Itacaré's town beaches, Havaizinho and Tijuípe Waterfall. Prices start at R$ 789.
The Marques Turismo agency has announced a four-day tour combining the Maraú Peninsula and Itacaré, departing from Salvador on the night of Friday, October 30, with return scheduled for the night of Monday, November 2. The package costs from R$ 789 per person, according to the operator's page.
The itinerary
The trip begins with boarding at three points: the Salvador Bus Station (Rodoviária), at 22h (check-in at 21h30); the site of the former PRF unit in Simões Filho, at 22h30; and in front of the Feira de Santana Bus Station, at 23h30.
On Saturday, the 31st, the group arrives in Camamu at around 7h. After breakfast, it heads to the town's port, where the schooner departs at 9h for Ilha da Pedra Furada, Barra Grande, Goió and Campinho. Lunch is planned in Barra Grande. The schooner returns at 15h, and the bus leaves for Itacaré at 17h, with arrival expected at 18h. The evening is free. The operator suggests Rua da Pituba, known for its restaurants, bars, shops and live music, and Praia da Concha (beach), close to the accommodation.
On Sunday, November 1, the program includes a walk along Itacaré's town beaches: Resende, Tiririca, Costa and Ribeira. After that, the time is free.
On Monday, the 2nd, the group leaves the pousada at 8h. At 9h it arrives at Praia do Havaizinho, where it stays until 11h. It then visits Tijuípe Waterfall, with lunch and free time. The return begins at 15h30, and departure for Salvador is set for 16h. Arrival is expected at 23h30.
What's included
- executive bus;
- two nights' accommodation;
- breakfast on Sunday and Monday;
- transfers for the outings in the itinerary;
- identification wristband.
What's not included
According to the package page, the following are not included:
- Saturday breakfast;
- the schooner trip around the islands, R$ 110;
- the van into town, R$ 15 each way;
- admission to Tijuípe Waterfall, R$ 30;
- the bus station fee, R$ 5;
- the guide fee, R$ 50.
The van is necessary because, according to the operator, the bus does not enter the town of Itacaré. It takes passengers from the drop-off point to their accommodation. The agency also warns that the prices of the items not included and the schedule are subject to change, and that seat selection at the time of booking serves only as an initial reference, since the layout depends on the vehicle provided.
Background
The itinerary brings together two destinations on Bahia's southern coast that are often visited together: the Maraú Peninsula, with Barra Grande and the islands of Camamu Bay, and Itacaré, with its town beaches and Tijuípe Waterfall. For those who live in Itacaré or run accommodation and services in town, the offer shows the interest of out-of-town operators in long-weekend packages departing from the state capital.
The same agency is advertising another three-day tour, from November 6 to 8, with town beaches, Havaizinho and Tijuípe, from R$ 429 per person.
